Masters of Education

The Masters degree in Education is a respected postgraduate qualification, enabling you to specialise academically in education, or further your career in education or another career of your choice.

This degree is a flexible course with a choice of modules that allows you to tailor the qualification according to your interests. You can choose to specialise in linguistics, inclusive practice, or leadership and management, all of which draw on the research strengths of the Faculty of Education and Language Studies.

Throughout this degree you’ll engage with debates and issues in the area of education relevant to your area of interest. Course work will encourage you to consolidate your understanding of educational issues with relevant professional and academic research.

As part of the assessment process, you’ll conduct a literature review of a topic of your choice, which involves writing a final paper. You’ll also undertake a one-year research enquiry or professional project, which comprises the final module of your degree.

In order to study this degree – and all other postgraduate degrees - you must hold a bachelors degree or a qualification at equivalent level.

Diploma in Elementary Education

Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) programme is a specifically designed package for inservice untrained teachers working in primary/ upper primary schools of different states of the country. The programme has been developed by the Academic Department, on the initiative of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Govt. of India, keeping in view the NCF 2005, RTE 2009 and NCFTE 2010. The Programme aims at enabling the target group to develop in them skills, competencies, attitudes and understanding to make teaching and learning more effective.

Diploma in Physical Education

D. P. Ed. programme is designed to integrate the study of childhood, social context of Physical Education, subject knowledge, pedagogical knowledge, aim of Physical Education and communication skills. The programme comprises of compulsory and optional theory as well as practical courses and compulsory school internship.
